Branding Identity Design
Mandate
The task for this project was to revamp the logo and brand identity for Dept. 9 Studios, a music and video production studio based in Edmonton. The objective was to create a fresh and impactful identity that would resonate with the studio's audience and be effectively applied across various platforms and media.
Approach
To achieve this, I used design elements like rounded edges and simple geometric shapes to create a tech-inspired aesthetic, reflecting the studio's innovative approach to music and video production. The color palette was carefully curated, featuring vibrant orange tones that contrasted with concrete textures, whites, blacks, and greys. This combination evoked a sense of modernity, professionalism, and creativity, aligning perfectly with Dept. 9's identity and industry. I also developed dynamic animations to showcase the studio's production capabilities, adding an interactive dimension to the brand.
Outcome
The outcome of this project is quite pleasing. The redesigned logo and brand identity for Dept. 9 Studios are not only visually striking but also highly versatile. Seeing the identity come to life across different mediums and applications reinforces its effectiveness in representing Dept. 9's brand essence and unique offerings.
